Real distribution

Updated Sep 15, 2026

Content and distribution (see the earlier "Content and distribution" guide) drafts social copy, newsletters and ad campaigns for you to send by hand. Once you connect a real account, your Marketing department can go a step further and act for real - post to X, LinkedIn, or a Meta Page, run and manage a Google Ads campaign, and publish an update to your Google Business Profile - always within limits you set.

Connecting an account

In Settings › Sites, open your site's Distribution panel and choose Connect next to any network. You'll go through that network's own sign-in and permission screen; nothing is shared with your site until you approve it there. Google Business reuses the Google connection from the Content and distribution guide - if you've already connected Google for Search Console or reviews, it's ready to use here too.

Disconnecting removes what this platform stores for that network; it does not revoke the permission on the network's own side; do that from the network's own account settings if you want to fully undo it.

You set the limits, not the department

Two sets of rules apply to everything your Marketing department does for real, and you control both from the same Distribution panel:

  • Posting policy - how many posts per network per day are allowed, a quiet-hours window during which nothing goes out, and whether every post needs your approval before it's sent no matter what.
  • Ad spend caps - a daily and a monthly ceiling across every connected ad account, plus a threshold above which any single spending change (starting a campaign, raising its budget) needs your approval even if you've turned off blanket approval.

A capped action never happens - your department is told plainly that it hit a limit. An action that needs approval instead shows up as a proposal for you to approve or reject; approving it carries it out immediately.

The queue and the activity log

Your department can also schedule a post for a specific future time instead of posting right away - you'll see it in the panel's Queue tab, where you can edit its text or cancel it any time before it goes out. Every real action - posted, proposed, or blocked by a limit - is recorded in the Activity tab so you always have a plain record of what your accounts actually did.

What's not built yet

Ad campaign management (creating, enabling, pausing, and adjusting a budget) currently works with Google Ads only; Meta's ad platform is a materially larger integration and isn't wired up for campaign changes yet, though Meta's organic posting works today. Posts are text-only for now - attaching an image or video to a post is a planned follow-up.
