Buy or connect a domain

From Settings › Sites › Domain (or Business › Website › Domain & Edge), or just by asking the assistant - "get me riverside-plumbing.com" - you can buy a domain and put it on your site, or connect one you already own, without leaving NextOS.

Buying a new domain

1. Search. Type your business name or a specific domain. You'll see which ones are available and the real price for a year - the price you see is the price you pay, nothing added at checkout.
2. Pay. Choose one and you're sent to a secure payment page. Nothing is charged, and nothing is registered, until you complete that payment.
3. It goes live. Once payment completes, the domain is registered, pointed at your site, and verified automatically. This usually takes a few minutes; occasionally DNS propagation takes longer, and Settings › Sites shows the exact step it's on the whole time.

Domains are sold for one-year terms and don't renew automatically. Before a domain expires, Today reminds you 30 days out and again in the final week, with a link to renew it as a fresh purchase from the same panel.

If something goes wrong after you've paid - a registration failure, for example - you are not charged, and Settings › Sites shows the order as refund pending while it's sorted out.

Not every domain can be bought this way yet: premium domains, and anything other than a standard one-year registration, aren't available to buy here yet.

Connecting a domain you already own

Enter the domain in the same panel. You'll get back the exact DNS records to publish at wherever you manage that domain's DNS, and a button to check once you've done that - there's nothing else to set up on our end.

What name the domain is registered under

A domain you buy through NextOS is registered through our registrar account on your behalf. You can transfer it to your own registrar account any time after its 60-day post-registration lock; contact support to start a transfer.

Email on your new domain

The moment your domain goes live, support@ and hello@ addresses on it start working too, and every email your site sends comes from your own domain instead of ours - see Email for the details.
