The AI concierge chat widget

Updated Sep 15, 2026

Turn on a small chat bubble in the corner of your site that can answer visitor questions on its own - grounded in your actual site content, never guessing at a price or an appointment time it doesn't know.

Turning it on

From a site's settings, turn on "Enable chat widget" and give it a name, a greeting, and a tone. The widget appears on your site the next time you publish. It's off by default.

What it can answer

The concierge only answers from what your site actually says: the text on your pages, any blog or article content, your product list, and your booking availability if you offer one. If it isn't confident an answer is grounded in that, it says so honestly and offers to connect the visitor with you, instead of guessing.

Private knowledge

If there's something you want the concierge to know that shouldn't appear anywhere on your public site - internal FAQs, policy details, pricing nuances - add markdown files to a knowledge folder in your site's files. That folder is never published or served to visitors; only the concierge reads it when answering.

Booking and getting in touch

If your site has bookings turned on, the widget can show open times and book one right in the chat. A visitor can also leave their name and email for you to follow up, or ask outright to talk to a person.

When it hands off to you

Some things are always handed to you rather than answered by the assistant: anything that sounds like a refund request, a legal concern, or a frustrated visitor. The concierge also hands off anytime it isn't confident in its own answer. Each of these shows up as a ticket in your site's settings, and you'll get a notification.

Usage and cost

The concierge uses your account's own AI allowance, the same one your other AI features draw from. Each site has a daily message cap you control, so a busy day never runs away with your allowance. You can see today's usage and recent conversations from the site's settings at any time.

Trying it out

Use the "Test it" button in your site's settings to try the widget on your live site without leaving the settings page.
