Sync NextOS with
Box

Connect Box with OAuth for enterprise-grade cloud sync, including its own change feed and chunked uploads.

01What syncs

Your files,
kept in step.

  • One folder in your Box account mirrored against your NextOS VFS
  • Changes via Box's own event/changes feed rather than a full re-list every pass
  • Large files automatically via a chunked upload session above a 50 MB threshold

02How the connection works

Authentication,
handled once.

OAuth - connect in Settings
box — connection

A standard OAuth redirect to Box; the server holds the resulting access token.

03Setup

Three steps,
start to finish.

  1. Open Settings > Cloud storage and choose Box

  2. Approve access on Box's consent screen

  3. NextOS creates its sync folder and starts syncing on the schedule in Settings

04Limits, honestly

What it
won't do.

  • Scoped to one folder, not your whole Box account
  • Files above 50 MB automatically switch to chunked, resumable upload sessions
  • Access follows whatever Box permissions the connecting account already has

05FAQ

Common
questions.

Is Box sync suitable for a company Box account, not just personal?

Yes - it uses the standard Box API and OAuth, so it works the same against a managed enterprise account as a personal one, subject to whatever your Box admin allows.

What happens with very large files?

Anything over 50 MB automatically uses Box's chunked upload session instead of one request - handled without any action from you.

Does it need a Box app installed?

No - the connection is API-based OAuth, no desktop client required.
